Sam Rayburn Reservoir, TX (March 30, 2026) – Stop 2 of the 2026 Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Texas Team Trail presented by Progressive delivered another strong showing as teams took on Sam Rayburn, one of Texas’ premier bass fisheries.

With solid conditions across the lake and strong winds playing a factor throughout the day, anglers found ways to adjust and stay consistent. By weigh-in, 10 teams crossed the stage with 20-pound limits, highlighting the strength of the fishery and setting up a tight race at the top.
Rambo & Clark rose above the field, bringing in a five-fish limit weighing 26 pounds, 8 ounces to secure the victory.

The win marked a major milestone for the duo, who have spent over two decades fishing together.

“We’re at Sam Rayburn today and just won the Texas Team Trail with 26-8,” they said. “This makes our 20th boat to win together, and we’ve been fishing together for 21 years, so that’s pretty exciting.”

Despite challenging conditions, the team stayed committed to their strengths and executed throughout the day.

“We caught all of our fish out deep, throwing a 6XD and a Carolina rig,” they shared. “That’s something we throw a lot and it just keeps proving itself.”
Wind played a major role in how the day unfolded, but the team adapted and made it work.

“We had waves on the front of the boat almost all day,” they said. “We made the best of what we had, and it was our day — we came out on top.”
The win earned the team a Nitro Z18 boat package along with a share of over $100,000 in cash and prizes.

Finishing in second, Howe/Wadsworth brought in 25 pounds, 15 ounces after battling changing conditions leading up to and during the event.
“We had a good day. The wind really messed things up, but we were blessed to pull out a second,” they said.

After struggling throughout practice, the team found a key pattern late that carried into tournament day.
“We got on a little creek swing pattern with some big worms and figured something out yesterday that we were able to carry into today,” they explained.

Adjustments were critical as wind impacted their primary areas, forcing them to relocate and adapt on the fly.
“About 99% of what we found was in heavy wind, so we had to scramble and find something similar out of it,” they said.

Despite the challenges, key bites made the difference.
“We were just a few ounces short, but it was one of those days you can’t complain about,” they added.

Big Bass honors went to Bond/Fredregill with an impressive 11-pound, 15-ounce Rayburn giant.
“Caught it on an Apex jig… the fish was stripping line and when it came up, we knew it was a big one, just didn’t know it was 11-15,” they said.

With momentum already building, the 2026 season also introduced several new fan-focused features, including interactive live leaderboards, expanded on-the-water live coverage, and additional streaming platforms to make it easier than ever to follow the action.

With two events complete, the Texas Team Trail now turns its attention to Stop 3 at Lake Texoma in Kingston, Oklahoma, set for April 25, 2026. Teams will launch from Catfish Bay Marina with weigh-in held at West Bay Casino & Resort, as the race for Progressive Team of the Year points continues to heat up.
