Where can I find the rules for Texas Team Trail events? 

View the rules on the TXTT Website and in the TXTT Fishing Chaos Event (primary communications channel for 2026). Printed copies are available upon request.

Is there criteria I must meet to fish a Texas Team Trail tournament?

Participation is open to any angler 18 years or older who is a current TXTT member ($50 annual membership per angler). Any angler under 18 must fish with a partner who is 18 or older and have a parent/legal guardian signature on the official entry form. TXTT reserves the right to refuse membership or participation.

No Saturday morning registrations or payments of any type are accepted.

What do I need to bring with me to registration?

At least one team member must attend on-site registration (Friday 4:00–6:00 pm). Have ready: Accurate SSNs for both team members, and boat/motor information (serial numbers) for contingency eligibility.

How do I enter a National Walleye Tour Can I register for the event the Saturday morning of the event?Event?

No. Registrations and payments of any type are not accepted the morning of any tournament.

Can I fish by myself if my partner can not make it?

No. TXTT events are team events consisting of two anglers; fishing as an individual is not permitted.

Can I have an alternate if my partner can not make it? 

DO NOT register for the event with your alternate. You MUST register with your original partner for points to follow your team.

Contact us (580-765-9031) as soon as you know that an alternate will be used. Alternates are required to pay TXTT membership and all information required for registration. Alternates are not eligible to compete in the 2026 TXTT championship event.

When can I practice and when is off‑limits (regular season)?

Off‑limits: Monday–Friday before each event.

Friday practice: Allowed only for teams fully registered and paid.

After hours: Tournament waters are off‑limits to practice or fishing of any kind after 6:00 pm Friday until takeoff on tournament morning.

Additional Compliance Notes:

No non-competitors in your boat during allowed practice or competition (except an approved observer or tournament official).

Electronics: Live scope and/or scanning/identification devices may be used only during allowed practice times or tournament hours

What is the TXTT Anglers Advantage Program?

Optional $100 per team additional entry that creates an extra payout bracket. Must be paid by close of on‑site registration Friday. Payout is 100%. No Saturday morning payments are accepted.

How do I qualify for the Championship?

The top 75 teams in Team of the Year points after the final regular‑season event qualify.

Teams must weigh a fish at an event to earn points (no buy‑ins).

Each team is allowed one alternate in the regular season (see Alternates above). No alternates may fish the Championship.

Championship entry fee: Same as a regular‑season event ($325).

Payment deadline: 3:00 pm Friday the week before the Championship (8 days before Day 1). Missing the deadline forfeits the spot; TXTT will proceed down the list starting with 76th place up to a maximum of 85th to fill the field
